How do I get curls without frizz?

Spoiler alert: fluff is part of the game — but you can keep it to a minimum.

If you have curly hair, you know one thing for sure: frizz is like that uninvited guest at parties… you can't keep it out 100% of the time, but you can keep it to a minimum.
And believe me, I speak from experience. My hair loses moisture faster than I can lose my keys, and yes, I'm officially hooked on Super Sealing Oil because of it. But we'll get to that in a moment. 😉

In this blog post, I'll explain where lint really comes from, why it's so stubborn, and what you can do to minimize it.
With practical tips, recognizable moments and of course the products that can help with this.

Why do you get frizz? The real reasons.

1. Your hair loses moisture

This is the biggest cause of frizz.
Curls are naturally dry, porous, and hungry. When there's too little moisture in your hair shaft, your hair starts searching for moisture in the air... and that's where frizz comes from.

2. You are using too little product

Many women use 50% too little product.
A little cream in your palms and hoping for defined, smooth curls? Nope. It doesn't work.

3. Weather conditions (yes, fog is the devil)

Fog, rain, humid air, wind, dry air — each season has its own “fluffy mood”.

4. Wrong products or wrong balance

Some products don't seal properly or don't contain enough nourishing ingredients to keep your hair under control.

5. Styling technique

“How” you style your curls is just as important as “what” you put in them.
My personal favorite? Wet-plopping .
Sounds crazy, but it works fantastically. But other techniques can also help reduce frizz, you can read all about it here.

How do you get curls with minimal frizz?

Here are the tips that really work.

Tip 1: Apply your styling to really wet hair

The wetter your hair, the better your product will distribute and the more frizz you will prevent.

👉 Here's why wet-plopping works so well:
Apply your products to wet hair and let them work under a shower cap. This will help retain moisture and create soft, shiny curls.

Tip 2: Use enough product — really, more than you think

In the case of fluff:
Too little product = guaranteed frizzy curls.

Use this as a guideline:

  • All-in-One Treatment as a moisturizing base (leave-in / treatment)
  • All-in-One Styling Cream for definition and nourishment (if you do NOT use the Treatment as a leave-in)
  • Styling Gel for hold, frizz control and frizz control

And don't be stingy. Your hair uses more than you think.

Tip 3: Seal everything with an oil (the Super Sealing Oil)

This is the step that 80% of women skip… and also causes 80% of their frizz.

My personal routine (and lifesaver):

🟩 Super Sealing Oil (and you use this on wet hair)
A thin layer is enough to retain moisture and protect your curls from wind, fog, rain, air conditioning, dry air… you name it.
Due to the high percentage of Meadowfoam Oil , it acts as a “seal” around your hair, ideal for frizz-prone, quickly drying curls like mine.

Tip 4: Choose the right products (and stick with them!)

The complete Amazing Curls routine works together as one system:

1. Smart Clean Shampoo

Cleanses without drying out → prevents moisture loss.

2. All-in-One Treatment

Deeply hydrates → reduces frizz.

3. All-in-One Styling Cream

Nourishes and softens → reduces frizz and dryness.

4. Styling Gel

Provides hold → prevents hair from loosening and frizzing.

5. Protein Drops

For more strength, less breakage & better definition → less frizz

6. Super Sealing Oil

Locks in moisture → protects against weather & humidity.

All six work together to minimize frizz as much as possible.

Tip 5: Protect your hair from the weather

Lint often starts before you even leave the house.

  • Mist → always seal with oil
  • Wind → gel + oil combo
  • Low humidity → extra hydrating treatment
  • Rain → gel to the tips

Tip 6: No more fiddling after styling

Hands out of your hair = less frizz.
Real.
This is the hardest rule for 90% of curly girls.

Tip 7: Accept that 100% lint-free doesn't exist

The goal isn't zero frizz , but shiny, soft, well-formed curls with minimal frizz .

And that is achievable, every day.

My personal routine (frizz-proof)

  1. Smart Clean Shampoo
  2. All-in-One Treatment
  3. All-in-One Styling Cream on wet hair
  4. Styling Gel scrunch
  5. Super Sealing Oil as a sealant (on wet hair)
  6. Wet pop for about 10 minutes (use a shower cap)
  7. Micro-plopping with a microfiber towel and then diffusing
  8. If necessary, Protein Drops 1–2x per week for extra definition

Result: soft, defined, virtually frizz-free curls, every time.

Finally

Frizz will always be a part of curls, but with the right routine, you can really keep it to a minimum .

The key?

  • enough moisture
  • enough product
  • the right ending
  • styling technique
  • and consistency
